Bookcovers
The book covers were based on podcasts (“Parasites, Stochasticity, and When Brain Attack!”) of WYNC’s Radiolab. The podcasts were randomly chosen, the objective was to listen to the podcast and create cohesive bookcovers based on my interpretation.
Sketching Process
I listened to the podcasts and did 100+ sketches for each podcasts.
Three Variation
I went through the sketching process, used three different mediums to express the concepts and decided on the overall medium to use. Visually, photo version has more impact. I used unusual colors and images to generate confusion and curiosity. The broccoli sandwich represents people’s perspectives on parasites. The coin on its side symbolizes chance. The diary represents secrets kept by the brain.
